Sunday in Coleraine Part III

Last set of photos now.

Another view of Sandleford Bridge.

If you've ever wondered what the underside of a bridge looks like here it is.

Here's a pedestrian underpass near the bridge. It really looks that inviting in real life.

I hope you enjoyed the little trip.

Sunday in Coleraine Part II

My walk along the Bann continues. Forgive the quality of the photos.

Here is the Bann facing south from near the waterside. In the distance is the "new bridge", or Sandleford bridge to give it its proper name. That's where I'm heading.

Here I'm just under the new bridge, but facing away from it.

If I turn around I can see the 1970s era bridge.

The path continues right underneath so lets take a look. You can tell it's January. Look how low the sun must be in the early afternoon to make a shadow like that. check out the graffiti on the right, and then check out the painted over graffiti on the left. Someone went over there to paint it out? It must have been bad!

Continuing along the path revealed this seat that I didn't recall seeing before. Would you sit on it? I passed.

Sunday in Coleraine

I thought I would take out my digital camera today and take some photos of the less pretty parts of town.

First here's the old Clothworkers Building at "the waterside". I thought it was a listed building but note the broken windows.

If you walk to the right you get to see this lovely piece of modern architecture. The metal security grills are a nice touch.

Now here is a view across the river Bann to the buildings above. On the left is "the old bridge". On the right is the newer footbridge.

Here is a view of the new footbridge from below:

Now a scenic view across the Bann to the former docks area. The railway bridge can be seen in the distance.
